Game Preview: Louisville vs Rutgers Sat. 4pm est

Saturday our Cards will be matched-up against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights who are 11-11 overall and 2-8 in the Big East.  This will prove to be a very important game for the Cards considering a win and a few key losses for other Big East teams could put the Cards all alone in 4th place in the Big East.  With a win for the Cards along with Nova beating G-town and Seaton Hall beating a struggling Pitt., we could take over the 4th spot out right!  With that being said we can not look past the Scarlet Knights who have some big-time players.  Headed up by guard Mike Rosario, who averages 16.5 per game, and 6 foot 11 Hamady Ndiaye Rutgers has the potential to play the roll of "spoiler" in the Big East.  It will be interesting to see who Pitino has in the starting line-up for this game.  Given the size of Rutgers I would assume we will stick with TJ and Samardo at the 4 and 5 spots.  Word on the street is that Preston Knowles has had a stomach virus all week and might not play which could cause problems for us.  That means look for a possible big game from Kuric and/or Marra.  I will be posting thoughts before and after each game from here on out and hope to hear what you all are thinking as well, GO CARDS!!!

  1. This is a game where the Cards must decide whether they are contenders or pretenders. A contender must chew up teams like Rutgers. Where is the consistent senior leadership? When will our freshmen/sophmores take the next step in their development? The answers are in this game and the remainder of the Big East schedule. Let's do it Cards!
